Dear students,
today we visited Laodicea it is an Ancient city, once a wealthy trade and textile hub. Famous for its theaters, temples and aqueducts. Today, impressive ruins tell of its former glory. It’s also a tourist attraction where non Christians once murdered. Afterwards, we drove to Pamukkale the “Cotton Castle” it’s a dazzling white travertine terraces with warm thermal springs. A natural wonder and UNESCO World Heritage Site. Visitors can bathe in the pools and we also watched an old opera with the Name Hierapolis it is an Ancient spa city above Pamukkale, founded in the 2nd century. All together it’s a mix of history and relaxation. Afterwards, we walked through Pamukkale back to the bus. It was a wonderful experience, and we learned a lot. We spent the rest of the day in the city with our exchange partners, doing different activities like shopping or eating tradition Turkish food and desserts.
Sending you some sunshine,
Julia and Katharina
